In this photo album you will find some pictures for historical places in Palestine. In the next update of this website, I will post some pictures for our grandparents that they took early last century. If you have old pictures and you would like to share it with us, please let me know by using the feedback form.
In 1896 Kleopas Koikylides visited a sixth-century church in Madaba, Jordan. He discovered on the floor the oldest extant map of the Holy Land. The Madaba Mosaic Map, Jerusalem is dominant among the nearly 150 places described in the Mosaic. It occupies the center and is shown in intricate detail, nearly ten times larger than other parts of the map. The excellent detail of Jerusalem allows scholars to date the map between 560 AD and 565 AD.
Al-Ibrahimi Mosq in Hebron is the second Islamic holiest place in Palestine.
